BasisFix and Koinly
Prices below were read from the vendors’ public pricing or help pages on 25 October 2026 and written down in this project’s competitor notes. Vendors change them. Check the live page before you rely on a number. Nothing here is a rank, a rating, or a claim about search results. BasisFix is launching at $29 per tax year, one-time, not a subscription. There is no checkout in this build. The worksheet is a review with a tax pro.

What BasisFix does not do
- It does not sync an exchange API, hand a file to TurboTax, or reconcile a Form 1099-DA.
- It does not get cheaper than Koinly once you need those features or a transaction tier above a small CSV. BasisFix has no higher tier because it does not do that work.
- A free preview is not a difference. Koinly already shows one and charges for the download.
$29 is under the $49 Newbie price recorded that day. That comparison is the entry tier only. The file path is the other difference: Koinly’s import lands in their account, and BasisFix parses in the browser.
Questions
Is BasisFix a discount on Koinly?
No. Koinly Newbie was $49 per tax year for 100 transactions on 25 October 2026. BasisFix is launching at $29, one-time, with no checkout in this build. It also has no API sync and no 1099-DA reconciliation.
Does the CSV go to Koinly’s servers in this comparison?
Koinly’s own pages describe an account import. BasisFix reads the file in the browser and does not upload it. Those are different products, not two settings of one product.
Does Koinly auto-renew?
The help text recorded on 25 October 2026 says the plan is not auto-renewed. CoinTracker is the product in these notes whose paid plans auto-renew. Confirm Koinly’s live help page before you rely on the sentence.
